The manouvre of roller pigeon.

The roller is not popular in my country. the pigeon lover loves high flyer pigeon. As the pigeon fly high . The pigeon better. There are some contesst of high fly but I am curious that the contest is connected to gambling. The pigeon that first come to the target and fly high is the winner. The price reach $10,000, compared to common the high flying that is only $10. 

Back to roller. Only few people that raise the pigeon. The roller is imported from outside. We do not recognize the roller in my country. I just saw the bird from television or YouTube that the bird can roll and roll back either in air or in the land. The parlor roller is a pigeon breed that can tumbling either in air or in the ground. But they like to tumb on the ground. Meanwhile the Birmingham roller only show back roll manouvre in air only. 

The roller is an adaptation behaviour of the bird to evade from the Buzzard Attack. The Buzzard has high speed and easily caught the pigeon with is speed. Therefore the roller can manouvre to evade from the Buzzard Claw. 

This adaptation does not appear in Pigeon in our country. Perhaps the Buzzard is different in my country. The pigeon also not need to hide from a buzzard. 

There is contest in roller pigeon. The owner whistling the bird and the pigeons start rolling in sky. What a beautiful movement. I amazed the bird can understand the order of its boss.

This bird is not different to rock dove. The bird has short face that is sometimes called shirt face tumbler. The beaks is so short. I think the short face is adaptable psychical of the bird. We can say only the short face that has ability roll. 

I was so wrong . The roller is not adaptable way to evade from Buzzard. The roller movement may make the Buzzard disorient but the pigeon also suffer disorient that may get caught by the Buzzard. This bird are dedicated for hobbyist only that is why you should careful to raise the bird especially your house have so many pigeon's enemy. 

Sebright Bantam : The England Bantam whose has unique feather

Sebright Bantam is a bantam from Britain. The breeder of the bantam is Sir John Sebright. There are two kind sebright: gold sebright bantam and silver right bantam. It is gold laced and silver laced feather.

It is full breast, V-shaped tail feather, and near vertical wing. Unlike most bantam, Sebright cock has no train tail and saddle feather. Both cock and hen has same plumage. The difference between male and female is the comb. The female  has small pea comb but the male has large pea comb like a crown.

I have cared this bird. It can fly up to 10 meters but it does not run from my pen. The hen lay much eggs but it does not want incubate or hatch the eggs. Therefore, you need other hen to incubate the eggs.

Campbell Duck : The heavy duck from England

similar to the ancestor Wild Mallard. The drake has green beetle color head. 

Campbell duck is the cross duck between the mallard and its ancestor such as Rouen Duck and Indian Runner. Campbell looks fats than other duck breed. The body slender like the muscovy duck. The beak and feet color is dark.
It weighs 4 pounds or two kilograms. The duck could be considered as the dual purpose duck. It can produce meat as much as chicken.

The breed was introduced in 1898 in United States. The duck was crossed by Adale Champbelin England.
Khaki begin to lay the eggs at six month like New Hampshire Chicken or Rhode Island Chicken. They rarely hatch the duckling like Indian runner duck.

Rosecomb : The oldest Bantam in the world

As guest its gets name, the chicken has beautiful rose comb. The earlobes is wide and white in color. The hen comb is smaller than the female. The rosecomb is ancestor of the sebright bantam whose the golden and silver laced bantam with rose comb
The body slim unlike the bantam but the weigh is very light. It weighs only 600 gram, while the female is only 400 grams. The variations color of the chicken is black, barred, white, mottled, lemon blue, splash and more.

This chicken has black and white edge feather color. The chicken is only for exhibition due its small size and beautiful color.
The carcass is not good and the hens produce few eggs. The eggs is cream or tinted in color. The hen is declined to go broody. You have to find the broody hen or incubator machine to hatch the chicken eggs.
This chicken can fly so you need a roof for the chicken. The chicken can adapt well with winter though has wide comb.

Sussex Chicken : The Oldest dual-purpose chicken in England

As where it’s get name, Sussex chicken comes from Sussex, England. This chicken is believed as the first chicken breed in England. The chicken is a popular chicken breed in the world.

They have at least eight color variations such as, Brown, white, speckled, buff, light, red, silver, and coronation. The coronation color is the latest color of the Sussex; while, the white is the most rare Sussex.
The chicken has single wide comb and the earlobes are red. The eye is orange to yellow. The feet are yellow without feathers on it.

This chicken is so fat weighing 4.1 kg; while, the hen is only 2.5 kilogram. The cockerel or the teenage male is 3.5 kilogram while the teenage female is 2.5 kilogram.Due its heavy body, this chicken is risen for its meats beside the eggs. The skin si yellow that people likes it very much.

This chicken is good for your backyard.

Red Cap Derbyshire : Triple Purpose chicken from Derbyshire, England

Redcap Derbyshire is a Chicken breed from Derbyshire, England. The chicken is the dexcendant of so many chicken breed such as Golden Spangled Hamburg, Dorking, Old English Pheasant Fowl, and Black Breasted Red Games.
The Redcap has rose comb that is length 7 cm. The cap looks beautiful. Derbyshire color is black breasted red or partridge. The sickle feather is short like other England chicken breed. Both female has similar to its crescent tail feather.
It looks fat due its thick feather. The roosters weigh 4.1 kilogram and the hen weighs 3.4 kilogram. The young rooster or cockerel can reach weighs 3.7 kilogram, meanwhile the hen weighs 3.1 kilogram. This is a heavy chicken that can produce meat and eggs well. Due to its beautiful feather and crown, this chicken is considered as exhibition chicken.
It is docile and can adapt easily. This chicken is also good for your backyard. However, the hen does not go broody.
