The difference Goose and Swan

Both Goose and swan is wetland bird or waterfowl. They can swim well in lake or river. The beak is also similar, which is wide.  Both waterfowl also has similar shanks to that help them swim in water.  However, both waterfowl are different

 

Swan

Swan is wild wetland bird so they are free to fly. They use to migrate in winter to find warm land. They cannot live in winter due it lack of food.  Its wide wing supports them to fly for long distance. The wing span is long, about 3 meters. The swan is also bigger than swan, height 1.5 meters and weighing 15 kilogram. The name of male swan is Cob and he female is pen. The female will hatch the eggs for 21 days lonely without the cob aid. The cob only helps the pen to build the nest from straw.

Gooses

Goose is a domesticated waterfowl. People raise it for is meat. The goose also we recognize that the goose has longer neck but it is shorter than the swan. They do no migrate like swan because they have warm house and the owner provide the food supply for them. The goose used to eat such as grains, poultry feed, vegetable, and weed. Sometimes hey also eat some leaves too.

Goose is not heavy as swan as, ranging from 7 kilograms to 9 kilograms. They also can fly like goose. Its weighs span is only 1.5 meters or half of swan's wing span.

The male goose is gander while the female goose is goose. Both gander and goose hatch the eggs for 28 days. The goose will raise the duckling until they can find the food alone.

Difference organic eggs and free range eggs

People tend to back to nature, by consuming the organic product including egg. The organic eggs are believed free from chemical and antibiotics residue that harm for human body. In long term the chemical can defect vital organ such heart, lever, and kidney.
That is why people prefer organic rather than common eggs. However, some people criticize to the organic product because it is not organic that as people think. People think that organic eggs lay from hen that is free from antibiotics. However, USDA tolerates the antibiotics as long it is limited. In Russia, the organic egg lays from the hen that is free from antibiotics.
In USA, the hen for organic eggs should out from the cage at least five minutes a day.  I think it is no enough for hen stay for five minutes only. They should out at least for six hours a day so hey can eat the organic food outside. I do not know whether the organics egg farm use organic chicken feed or commercial food. Supposedly, the government forbids commercial food for organic chicken. They should make the chicken food from cereal, mineral, and others.
If you do no sure to organic chicken in supermarket, you have to buy egg free range chicken. The eggs must be better than the organic chicken. The free range rarely uses the antibiotics to increase the immunity. The farmer will not use it. They just slaughter the chicken that goes sick.
The chicken in free range just eats the seed such as corn, oat, sorghum, and paddy. The owner does no feed the chicken with vitamin and others. Sometimes the owner also feed them with vegetables and fruit. The chicken in free range live happier than chicken in eggs.
Check also the environment of free range chicken. The environment should health too. The eggs from the polluted area must be bad too. The bad water also influences the quality of the eggs. The polluted area also influences the grass and weeds, which are also the chicken food. The polluted grass can harm for the chicken. After the chicken eats the polluted grass, the residue will stay in its body and it also pollutes the chicken eggs too.
You can also build free range chicken if you have large backyard. Ten hens can provide three eggs a day. I think it is enough for your family.

Red Shaver, Canada chicken breed that lay super jumbo eggs

Unlike it neighbor, Canada does not have much chicken breed.  Canada has two chicken breed i.e. Chantencler and Red Shaver. Red shaver is a linked sex chicken from Canada. Because of this, we can sexing the chicken easily from its feather. The female is reddish brown in color with white under feather; while, the male color is white with a few red marking. 
The chicken comb is single. The male has larger comb than the female. At 18 weeks or 4 month, the chicken is 3 ½ ponds. After a year, the chicken is 4 ½ to 5 pounds in weight. The carcass of the chicken is three to five pounds in weight.
The Red shaver can produce delicious meat and so much egg, which means the chicken, is dual purpose breed like Rhode Island Red. The female or hen lay from 305 to 315 big brown eggs in a year. The Red performance is a good as white leghorn chicken.  A report from Ottawa said that A four year Red Shaver lay super egg weighing  143 gram, which  is nearly three time of medium standard size or over two time of jumbo standard size (The medium standard is 49 gram and The jumbos standard is 70 gram). The big egg is enough for a big omelet.
A Red Shaver is a quiet breed. You can raise it at your backyard because it is used most frequently on in small flocks for small farms.  The chicken is also has have reputation as a hardy chicken.

The Blue Silkie Chicken - Rarely color Silkie Chicken

Silkie Chicken is a famous chicken breed with its soft-fur like feathers. The blue silkie is the rare color among silkie chicken. We are difficult to find the unique blue color. The original silkie chicken color is white. The mutation in silkie cause the chicken color increases. Now he silkie are available in red, buff, black, gray, and silver.
Some breeders cross the black and white silkie Bantam to produce Blue Silkie. Beside the blue, the crossing result white, black, and grey.
The blue has five toes; whereas, most chicken have only four toes. Some have feather in legs and some others not. Like other bantam, the blue has short legs. The legs are black in color. The head is glossy back. It has unique blue red comb that is also called top knot. Only the male has top knot. The female comb is smaller than the male.
The skin under the feather is dark blue. People often said the skin of the chicken is black. The meat of the chicken is also black. The bone is also dark blue, appearing black. Due its black bone, it is also called black bone chicken.
The blue is also a docile pet like the white. It is good as pet. The chicken will not mad if you hand them. It is an easy handed chicken. The female is a good brooder, meaning the female keep the eggs. The female often keep other eggs in heir nest so you can place other eggs in the blue’s nest.

Lahore Pigeon : Beautiful Pigeon From Lahore

As guess its name, this beautiful bird comes from Lahore Pakistan. Some writer said that he bird comes from Sharja.
The bird has unique color pattern. The upper body ( including head, back and wing) is dark in color but the lower body (neck, belly, tail, leg) is white in color. There are some various color such as black, red, brown, silver, blue barred, stencil, lavender and else.
The bird is easy to raise and it is good for beginner. People raise his bird as ornamental bird however some farmer also raise the bird for is meat. The bird is large enough.

How to hatch Serama eggs: It is difficult to hatch Serama’s eggs

My friend said that he raise so many chickens. He has narrow flock at the roof. Actually his father mind with his small farms. He raise ornamental chicken only due it is more profitable than raising common chicken such as broiler, landrace chicken, or layer chicken. The price of ornamental chicken is ten time or more common chicken. That is why my friend love to raise the ornamental.
Rasing the Serama is not easy as I think. I thought i is very simple. This small chicken just need fewer food or space. The obstacles in Serama Breeding is the eggs. A Serama hen can lays maximum only five eggs a season. Some hen also cannot hatch the eggs. To overcome the problem, a hobbyist must hatch the eggs with small incubator machine.I just need 21 days until the egg hatch. Certainly you should raise the chicken until mature. You cannot return back the chicken to is parent because the parent did not hatch it.
You can also use other bantam to hatch the Serama. Some bantam can hatch its eggs such as dutch bantam, Japanese Bantam, and other. My friend use pigeon to hatch the Serama. I think we can use the pigeon but we should separate the Serama after hatch immediately.

Long shank bantam

A year ago I walked to a bird market to seek some chicken. I love to walk there because we can see chicken, duck, goose, and others. The bird market is a famous bird market in my hometown.
I saw an old man sit behind the stainless steel cage. He sell some Bantam Chicken and Serama Chicken. I interested the short Serama with rose comb. The color is golden laced in color. It is very small, weighing not more than 500 grams. There is also white serama at its left side. I asked the price of the bantam. He said that the bantam price was $ 200. In my opinion the price was high and I had no money to buy it. I thought the cockerel was cheaper than the cock. The cockerel is black tailed buff but I forget the color of two pullets. I think one of pellet is buff in color, while other pullet is white in color. The cockerel's tail has not yet grown because it was stil young. I dare asked the old man the price. He answered the price is $110.
I notice the chicken that they have longer feet than other bantam. I said to the old man that the chicken has longer shank.

Fortunately, He did not angry. He explained that the tail would grow and the feet would looks short. I did not believe it and I leave the old man with his chicken. I thought the old man cross the bantam to native chicken so the cockerel has longer shank. He must try cheating me.
A few month ago, I read the Japanese bantam chicken article. From the article, I know that the Japanese Bantam descent 25% longer shank bantam, 50 % short shank bantam, and 25% lethal gene. The old man is honest. He did not sale a bantam hybrid but it sold a higher shank bantam. Supposedly, he explained the matter to me so I would not accused him as cheater.
Though the old man honest but people do not like longer shank bantam. The Chicken performance is not beautiful as real bantam is. The price must be cheaper than the short bantam.
I think the Japanese still has the red jungle fowl that is higher than it. If we cross the longer shank with longer shank we may establish a new chicken breed that is almost similar to red jungle fowl.
