The Ancestors of Poland Chicken

 The Poland is not the Red Jungle Fowl descent 

The red jungle Fowl is the father of most chicken in the world. The light Brahma and the small serama are the descent of the red jungle fowl. The soft plumage silkie also descent of jungle fowl. 

I am amazed the Crested Poland. Sometimes i think the Poland has very different crest and small v-shape comb. I think the poland is not the jungle fowl descent. Finaly i know the chicken is not the red jungle fowl's descent. 

I love the chicken. It is various color plumage. I like the laced color like sebright bantam. THe chicken lokks tame and docile. Unfortunately the chicken is not good sitters. 

I still confused what is the ancestors of the Poland. Perhaps the Poland has ancestors that is similar to them.

 I love drawing. Draws something including Chicken. In a piece of A4 , I draw at least 16 kind or breed chicken. I also draw the background. Certainly, my picture is not good but i still learn to make some sketch and coloring the pictures. i use very cheap color pencil. I hope this make this blog reader entertained. 

I love the long tail chicken. I could raise it. I do not buy it because i have no space. when i move to other city, i may consider raise the chicken. This picture entertain me. I hope I have some chicken in the picture that i have never raise it before 

Sometimes drawing the chicken make me happy. by drawing a chicken, as if I already had the chicken I wanted.

I do not now who chicken do you like. Perhaps you have other idea?

Some Chicken can fly too

 I have risen a pair of bantam. The variety of bantam is a cross of golden Sebright and Java Bantam. I was pretty sure the chicken is not pure Sebright breed because it's a golden color sickle tail that we can puns at pure Sebright bantam.

The roster can fly for five meters. When the sales showed me the chicken , he jump but he did not go far away. He is nervous with the hand. Actually I just want to buy a silver duckwing but I have not found any chickens my aunt choose the Sebright breed with nice rose comb there are three layer of the rose comb .

I love the chicken. The hen is beautiful with the pearl brown on colors I said pearl because her plumage color there is white spot on brown feather. I thought the hen is Java Bantam too.

The chicken is long enough in my raising or around three years.   the hen leave first is suspect the chicken is snot. This is the picture of my chicken

When the chicken release from the mother?

 Until today, the village people in my country still use the traditional farm. They hatch some eggs and eats some eggs. They do not use incubator machine to hatch the eggs, the owner does not separate the chicken after hatch but they let the chicken stay with its mother until they grow ups.

The chicken need warms from its mother because they do not have complete feather. The thick feather cannot protect from the cold and rainy day. The chick also need food. I remember I must break the rice so the chicken able to eat the grain. Most the chicken feed at the backyard is big and the small chicken it’s not able to eat the bigger grain. The mother will break the grain into small pieces. There also some weed, grass and insect in backyard and the mother hunt the cricket and feed them. The mother is bird but it does not overfeed the chick like other birds. The mother also protects from the predator.

After the chicken grow, the mother expels the chicken. They lay some egg again clutch. When the mother separates its chick. I guess after the chicken have full plumage that can protect. It s about two or three month. The chick will make a flock and they also separate from its brother or sister. The owner may sell some chick to the neighbor or other people. Some also slaughter for the owner. When celebrate something, we slaughter the chicken to celebrate something like new born, wedding, the graduation, enter the house, and so many. Some house also slaughter chicken in order to respect their guess.

Sometime a hen also expels the chicken early when they got disturb from the owner. Sometimes unwise owner holds the chick and the hen does not want to herd the chicken again.

Raise the hen with its chicken may no profitable for the company but for family it is profitable. They do not have to buy incubator machine and provide the special flock for the chick. They just release to backyard.

Merpati Sungut : A Rare Pigeon from East Java Indonesia

Unlike United States, Britain or other developed countries, Indonesia has no pigeon standard bird including pigeon. Ini my country, there is no standard bird that determine the variety of bird. Most people just recognize common pigeon or Columba Livia. 

Actually, the are some special breed fronmy country. One of them is Merpati Sungui. This pigeon is rare . The color is black. They have ability flying at night. 

It is also a high flyer and the legend of the high flyer. The bird is also fast flyer. 

The neck is look strong and big. The bird os shorter than other rock dove. The beak is short. It is not short as tumbler pigeon . 

This pigeon is more expensive than common pigeon. The proce is around twenty times common pigeon.

How many grain that we should give to a pigeon

Whenever you put corn , the pigeon will eat it. The pigeon is very tasty to eat the corn. In my country, the corn is one of the famous pigeon feed. I believe that the pigeon lover in US or Europe feed them with wheat and others. 

I think raising pigeon is not profitable, due the pigeon eat so many corn. The price of pigeon is only twenty five thousand rupiah or equivalent to about one half dollar. While the corn price reach 60 cent dollar or Ren thousands dollar. A pigeon can eat 50 gr a day so in a month, it can eat 1,5 kilograms and need about 0,9 Dollar. 

The price of the pigeon is not economic for the farmer but the corn price is so high. I psotponed to raise th epigeon due the corn price is so high . My brother inlaw has hundreds nice pigeon. at least je provide three scaks of corn. Off course he also has large field for his pigeonn.

Ohiki Japanese Long tail Bantam

Japanese are famous with the Long tailed Chicken Onagodori. This chicken could reach to ten meters. The Onagodori is a standard breed with long and slender body. 

Actually, there is Ohiki which has long tail too. The tail is not longer as it's big brothers Onagodori. The body is small . It is small as japanese Bantam. Some article written that the chicken is a descent both Onagodori and Japanese Bantams. 

There is not much literature about Ohiki. I have my friend pics who also the seller of some exotic chicken.
