Cross the Spotted Dove With Fan Tail pigeon

I have ever raise Spotted Dove (Spilopoa Chinese) in my  house. Most of them released from my bird cage . This bird is the family of rock dove too. It is a common practice to cross the bird with common pigeon or rock dove. The result is spotted dove that is more tame than the spotted dove. The hybrid is also bugger than the spotted but the sound is louder than thespitted dove.

The spotted dove also cross to Eurasian Ring Neck Pigeon that also result the better bird. Either The spotted and Ring Neck are nervous. They may hit the cage when you approach them.

I wonder to cross the Spotted with Indian Fan Tail Pigeon or American Pigeon Tail that result amazing Fan Tail Spotted dove. I have not found the spotted Dove Fan Tail. It must be rare breed and it must be expensive.

I am very doubt to produce it because the fan tail is a recessive gen. I have heard that cross common pigeon to the fantail result the hybrid that is similiar to common pigeon. It must be difficult to get the fan tail from the pigeon.

Perhaps cross the hybrid with the fab tail pigeon may produce the fan tail too. I do not know . Perhaps one day I should try it.

A Dove clutch produce all male

I am  foreighner for English. A couple week ago, i bought two doves from my friend. He said that the doves are pair but he could not determine whether the dove male or female. Actually, I just wanted a female one because I had the male with the amazing sound call.

He insisted me to buy bought. Finally i agree I buy a couple of the dogs and I put inside the cage. I bought it because I cannot differentiate the male and the female. Buy both two of them make me so busy.

Finally, i know that both dove are male. Ia have heard the sound. I thought from a clutch which has two baby dove, contains a female and a male. I have read a journal that there a possibility the clucth contain only male or only female.

I will sell one of them because do not want to raise There are soo much dove in my parent's small house . Perhaps I will sell it buy the Streopiliia Chinese which the sound is more attractive than the African ring neck dove. I also consider raise the Native Javan Dove that is similar to collared  dove. The  bird sound is not good as the ring neck dove but I like the sound that is similar to elephant trumpet.

Zebra Dove : The Most beautiful Singer Dove

Zebra dove or barred dove that has beautiful song in the world is very expensive in Thailand, Malaysia, and Philippine, and Indonesia. There are numerous Zebra dove on those areas.

Zebra dove performance is not beautiful. They have zebra-like color gray and brown. The iris of the bird are various such as yellow, blue, and green. The length is not more than 20-23 cm. There is albino zebra dove with red iris eye. The unique albino price is very expensive.

The beak is straight at curfew at the edge. The feet are in color like most doves feet. This dove is solitaire dove unlike other dove that lives in a group.

The habitat of the bird is secondary jungle, savanna, and farm crop. It likes seed, grain, and small insect. In farm, the breeder feed them with high quality seed such as paddy, millet, black seed, red rice, ketan, and others. Cuttlefish bone that contains calcium is also good for this bird. Some breeder also mixes the seed with honey and chicken eggs. Some Java people make traditional medicine so the bird can sing beautiful. The hobbyist put the bird at high place so people can hear the song.

The female can lay one or two eggs in a clutch. Both male and female will hatch and care the bird until they can independent.  In the farm, the breeder do not let zebra dove to hatch and care their eggs. The breeder want the zebra dove lays eggs only. They will take the eggs and give it to ring-necked dove. The eggs will hatch in 17-19 days. The ring necked dove will care the zebra dove kid for one to one a half month.

Zebra dove are raise in big farm intensively. The owner selects the best breed from the champion zebra dove. The breeder believes that the champion will bear the champion too.  Surely, the breeder also selects the good female that can sing beautiful.

The hobbyist often organized zebra dove championship before avian flu H5N1. The winner of the championship could get prize and it price increase to thousands dollar. A hobbyist dares to barter SUV car with zebra dove champion. The avian flu has crushed this business. We find rarely any zebra dove contest today. The breeder also cannot sell much zebra dove as much as before avian flu. They do not expand the business. Some breeders prefer to close the farm because they cannot stand to finance the operational costs.
