Poultry Purpose: How Rearing Location Determines Function.

 Muscovy duck is a meat purpose duck. it is risen for meat production. The duck weigh up to three kilogram. it is produce large meat for a family. 

The main color of the mscovy duck is black, white and black white. Recentl, we can found some color variation scuh as lavender, grey, bronze, and other. This variation is more expensive than black and white color. 

Today, the colorful muscovy duch is not for meat purpose only but for ornamental bird. I see the ornamental is difefrent from otehr country. in my country some people raise brahaman chciken whihc is dual purpose as ornamental bird. 

The Brahma chicken, which is raised as a dual-purpose chicken, is raised as an ornamental chicken in Indonesia. The issue of the chicken's function as an ornamental chicken depends on the location where the chicken is raised

In Unites States, Silkie are raise as an ornamental chicken but in th eorigin country chine, the silkie is a good layer. it is also go broody too.

I believe ayam kampung could be risen as the ornamental chciken because it some various color. 

Artifical Insemintaion along time ago

 

I used to have a regular barber. He was a very diligent man and a chicken farmer. He once said that in his day, artificial insemination was done by inserting rooster sperm into the female's cloaca using a bamboo strip. Of course, the bamboo strip wasn't sharp because it had been smoothed.

He used artificial insemination to breed the best rooster. He had a very good rooster in his pen. He hoped to get some good generation from the roster. He sold the chciken in bird market. He useually sell some good chicken.

Of course, that practice is no longer practiced. To transfer rooster sperm to the female's cloaca, a syringe with a blunt tip is used. Sharp instruments can injure the female's cloaca. Using a syringe is also practical because it simply inserts the sperm into the syringe and then finally inserts it into the female's cloaca.

I don't know the success rate of the artificial insemination performed by the barber. I didn't have time to ask him about it. Certainly, some eggs hatched during the process, otherwise he wouldn't have explained how to do it. The artificial insemination performed by the barber was also ineffective, as only one female was inseminated, considering that the amount of sperm in a single ejaculation is only 0.2 to 0.5 ml. That's only a drop that can fit on the bamboo strip.

Usually, a single artificial insemination can inseminate as many chickens or as many as 20 birds if the sperm is diluted. Of course, thinner sperm won't be able to adhere to the tip of the bamboo.

Notice, the bammbo should be clean. Use a new bambbo for it. Ini my country, we easily find bamboo and make it easy. Off course , today we do not have to use bamboo for it.

Rumpless or tailless chicken

Chicken without tail feather must be weird chicken. This chicken unique due to the chicken has no tail. Do not generalize the chicken with short tail. The rumpless really has no tail. 

The rumpless phenomenal could happen because the genetical mutation that change the performance of the chicken. Without a tail, the chicken is not complete. The function of the tail is a brake when it fly. Some domestic chicken has flying ability and the tail function could help the chicken to stop in certain distance. 

The rumpless may not attract most chicken lovet. Do the lack of tails. Tha absence of its tail reduce the performance of the chicken. Some chickenbhas beautiful long tail that is very expensive. However, few chicken lover must like the chicken. 

The rumpless could occur in any chicken breed . I do not believe the rumpless occur in jungle fowl because it must be difficult for the chicken live without tail in jungle. They have to fly at the jungle. 

The most chicken breed that has so many rumpless is Araucana. The Aracauna that lays green egg show the tall least .

Do it worry the rumpless is recessive genetics. You must difficult to find this bird. You can get the rumpless only when you mate the rumpless chicken or two chicken that has rumpless genetics.
